A Florida man was arrested after allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl he met via Snapchat, investigators said.
Austin Altman, 22, drove the child to nearby Hernando County on Saturday and took her home to Spring Hill, according to an arrest report issued by the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
The authorities said that the man had taken the girl - without the consent of her parents - and raped her.
The girl told the investigators that Mr. Altman "held her hand on her throat" while assaulting her.
Someone reported the disappearance of the child at the Hernando County Sheriff's Office and claimed that the child was with Altman.
The girl was found in Altman's room, officials said.
He was arrested and charged with sexual abuse of a child and violation of police custody. He was also charged with violating probation because he was arrested for committing an offense in court in September 2018.
On Tuesday, Altman was detained in a Land O'Lakes jail without bail.
