Krysztof Marek, 66, has been charged with five counts of first degree murder on Saturday, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said. A woman died Sunday in a hospital while four other victims were declared dead shortly after the shooting.

Marek first killed a family of three men and a woman while sitting at a table having dinner around 5:30 pm.

He then went to a unit above a floor and shot a woman, seriously wounding her. The woman was taken to hospital for an emergency operation, but died Sunday morning, police said.

Marek, who has no criminal record, has been heavily indebted in recent years, the paper quoted court documents as saying.

He was scheduled to appear at a bail hearing on Monday.
