New Orleans news, Louisiana news.

One person was killed, at least 18 others injured and three are still missing after the Hard Rock Hotel construction site partially collapsed in New Orleans on Saturday morning.

It occurred at around 10:15 a.m. when the upper three floors of the under-construction building collapsed. Workers ran for their lives as a crane crumbled on Rampart Street near Canal Street.

At around 10:45 a.m., a second piece of the site fell. According to Tim McConnel, the New Orleans Fire Department Superintendent, the building is unstable so another collapse can still occur.

The 18 people who were injured amid the incident were taken to University Medical Center and are in critical condition.
