Investigators search for clues to solve murder case of man found without head, hands and heart

Cataco Creek news, Alabama news.

Investigators in Alabama have released a sketch of a murder suspect and are seeking new leads to solve a cold case that is still mysterious after more than 22 years.

The body of a man in his 20s was found with his feet bounded by a rope and without the head, hands, heart, and spleen. Near the remains, cops found several air fresheners: "The hands and head had been removed, obviously to keep us from identifying the victim," said Keith Wilson, the chief investigator.

Last week, authorities released a sketch of the potential suspect and asked for the public's help.

A news report said on Saturday that the heart and spleen had been removed surgically, apparently to hide a stab or gunshot wound.

"I would like to solve this case before I retire," Wilson said.
