1 critically injured following shooting in West Philadelphia

Two people have been shot in West Philadelphia on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.

The shooting occurred at about 3 p.m. in the 500 blocks of S. 57th Street. Responding officers arrived at the scene where they found two wounded men. A 25-year-old man was shot at least three times including in the mouth. He remains in Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in a critical condition.

The other victim was reportedly shot in the right leg and hand. He was rushed to Mercy Catholic Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

Police said that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The investigation is ongoing to determine the identities of the victims.
