A mountain lion left an 8-year-old seriously injured when the animal attacked him while playing in front of his home in Colorado, officials said.
The animal jumped on the boy Wednesday night as he and his friend were playing on a trampoline in their Bailey neighborhood, according to Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
The boy jumped from the trampoline to run to another house when the lion attacked him by biting him in the head.
The boy's brother heard this rumor and ran for their father, who went out to find the animal above his child.
When the father approached, the lion let go and fled. The child was recovering at the hospital.
Wildlife agents have set up a trap and are trying to locate the lion.
