Jacob McIntosh, 25, of Indiana, was convicted of murdering his mother's boyfriend. He fired Jesse Daniels, 41, at a home in Indianapolis in January 2018, and told the police he wanted to give his mother a fresh start, the Marion County Attorney's Office announced.
The two men would have fought before the shooting.
McIntosh went upstairs, caught two guns and fired on Daniels nine times, prosecutors said.
The agents found McIntosh on the ground with what looked like a bruise on his forehead, WRTV reported at the time.
The conviction of McIntosh is scheduled for September 25.
