A Pennsylvania mother has been arrested after she allegedly left her baby inside a hot car and went shopping for about 20 minutes.
Denae Chavous, 33, was charged with a misdemeanor count of recklessly endangering another person and one count of endangering the welfare of a child after she allegedly left her 20-month-old baby unattended inside a hot car and went shopping at the Dollar Tree store in the Pilgrim Gardens Shopping Center.
An officer spotted the baby inside the car that had all its windows up: "The baby's head was slumped down, he appeared to have shallow breathing and was sweating." When he was removed, the toddler was "clammy and his clothing moist from sweat."
He was rushed to Delaware County Memorial Hospital and is improving.
The mother was released on a $30,000 bond.
