Clackamas County news, Oregon news.

An Oregon mother had surrendered to authorities after she allegedly took her ill daughter out of state to avoid cancer treatment and to try instead naturopathic treatments.

Christina Dixon was booked at Clackamas County Jail facing two counts of first-degree custodial interference and first-degree criminal mistreatment.

13-year-old Kylee, Dixon's daughter, is suffering from liver cancer. Doctors have ordered a prescribed treatment of chemotherapy and surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from Kylee's liver. However, Dixon refused to compel to the doctors' decision and opted for an alternative treatment of vitamins, herbs and pure CBD oil after taking the girl to a Nevada hotel.

Dixon has been released from jail until Aug. 19, her next hearing while Kylee was placed in protective custody.
