Father shoots son over argument over NFL players kneeling

A North Calorina father has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury after shooting his son on Thanksgiving Day.

Jorge Luis Valencia Lamadrid shot his 21-year-old son after an argument he had with his brother over the NFL players kneeling protests, the argument became a physical fight between the siblings, and Lamadrid couldn't stop them. Witnesses said that the victim threw a water bottle into Lamadrid's face when he squeezed the trigger on the gun shooting him in the hand and leg, both non-life threatening injuries.

The North Carolina man has been charged with the shooting. He has posted bond and has been released from jail, according to police warrants.
