A Georgia infant has died after she was bitten by her family's dog while sleeping in a bedroom, according to authorities.
The 3-week-old baby died on Tuesday a few hours after being bitten by the dog, a husky mix, in the head. She was rushed to Northeast Georgia Medical Center where she died from her severe injuries later on the same day.
The baby has been sleeping in a bedroom when she was attacked at around 2 p.m. as said by police officers and deputies from the Hall County Sheriff's Office who first responded to the incident.
The dog is currently in the custody of the Hall County Animal Control. The girl's identity has not been made public by authorities as no charges have been filed.
