A Virginia man has been charged with the murder of a 5-year-old girl after he shot her in the head, according to authorities.
20-year-old Derick Walton Jr. was charged with several counts including felony homicide in connection with the killing of Jaidah Morris. The 2017 incident left the girl's father wounded when shots were fired into the victims' bedroom.
In April, Walton has been accused of wounding Ke'miyah Edwards, 5, and an adult person in a similar incident. He was then charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling.
In the same case, another 19-year-old suspect, identified as Byron Archer III, was also charged in the girl's death. Both suspects are expected to appear in court this month.
