Utah officer died after being struck by suspects car

A police officer was killed when he was struck by a car carrying burglary suspects according to police.

David Romrell, a 31-year-old South Salt Lake Officer died while responding along with another officer to a burglary report, and came across two suspects trying to flee in their car homrell and the other officer got out of their vehicles and asked the suspects to surrender instead they accelerated and struck him.

Police shot at the two fleeing suspects.The driver died of a gunshot while the passenger was arrested.

Romrell was described as a "tactically sound" officer, humble, soft-spoken and kind. Utah Gov. Gary Herbert remembered him as "exemplary in every way, and i feel humbled by the service he gave his country."
