Columbus news, Georgia news.

Reports said that a Georgia husband has entered a not-guilty plea in connection to the fatal stabbing of his wife over Memorial Day weekend.

Marcus Dewayne King is held into custody since May 25 and charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of his 34-year-old wife De Ann King at least 20 times in the couple's house in Columbus, police said.

In addition to the murder charge, King who was denied bond also faces several other counts including family violence, aggravated assault and third-degree cruelty to children. He reportedly waived his appearance in Recorder's Court while his attorney entered the not-guilty plea on his behalf.

De Ann King's murder marked Columbus' 12th of the year, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
