Downtown Denver faced a dangerous deadly shooting between the members of two rival gangs fighting for the leadership of criminal activities.

1 man was killed while 3 others were injured near 21st and Lawrence streets.

it was revealed that one of the victims of the shooting is one of the alleged gang members, who is now facing federal gun charges.

according to a news release by U.S. Attorney Jason R. Dunn, ATF Denver Special Agent in Charge Debbie Livingston and FBI Denver Division Special Agent in Charge Dean Phillips, Dashae Eugene Armstrong, 23, would face up to 10 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine on a felony possession of ammunition.

Armstrong, who was shot in the leg, was sent back into custody waiting for a detention hearing scheduled Nov. 27.

on Monday, people called 911 to report that several people had been shot, the federal affidavit said. When Denver police arrived they discovered five victims suffering from gunshot wounds, including one who was deceased.

witnesses said that they spotted two men exchanging gunshots; One of the shooters was described as a heavy-set black male, wearing a grey sweatshirt and black pants.

a few moments later, Denver Fire Department responders were with Armstrong in front of the Marquis Theater, and they noticed that he matched the description of one of the alleged shooters.

A nearby video surveillance camera recorded a suspect, who matched Armstrong, as he shot and moved around a parked car.

The FBI and ATF also have assisted in the investigations that are still running while the identity of the victims is still unrevealed.
