According to Connecticut police, 50 people were arrested, drugs and firearms seized during an investigation based on heroin-related deaths.

The Waterbury authorities began the raids at 5 am Friday after obtaining 92 arrest warrants against 52 people.

According to the police, the police arrested 41 of the 52 wanted persons and nine others were taken into custody for drug cases.

Officials said they seized 8 ounces of heroin, several thousand bags of heroin put up for sale, more than $ 15,000 in cash, two cars, two handguns and a rifle.
