A Salisbury mother has lost her life after she was attacked by an unknown man while sitting inside a car.
My'a Miller, 19, was killed when Jeffrey Hooker Jr. pulled beside her car and opened fire at her. The victim was sitting in the passenger seat as her friend, Leroy Truesdale drove the vehicle. "She didn't know him. Neither one of us did. I've never seen this man a day in my life," he told reporters.
The victim was the mother of a 10-month-old son. "Every time I'd see her, it was her and her son and they were always so happy and loving," Truesdale added.
Hooker was apprehended and charged with murder and shooting at an occupied vehicle. He was booked into Rowan County Jail without bond.
