Suspect shot dead by officers after stealing car, driving toward cops

San Jose Police Department announced the fatal shooting of a suspect accused of stealing a vehicle and refusing to comply with their orders.

The man, who was not identified, was shot dead by officers who fired several times at him as he drove the stolen car toward them and refusing to surrender. The incident also resulted in one officer being struck and injured but listed in stable condition.

The SJPD also announced that the three cops involved will be placed on paid administrative leave as a criminal investigation will be conducted jointly by The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office and the San Jose Police Department's Homicide Unit. The identities of the three cops were not immediately released.
