Woman drove through stoplights, causes several crashes with toddler in car

Abilene police announced the arrest of a woman who drove through traffic stoplights with child in vehicle, and lead police to use road spikes to stop her.

The events started on North Arnold Boulevard when police were called to intervene in a disturbance. Upon their arrival, they located the woman, 28, driving through stoplights. Shortly afterwards, the woman was reported involved in a car crash but continued driving.

Police officers used strip spikes to flattening the suspect's vehicle tires at East Stamford Street and State Highway 351 where they were finally able to stop the car. The woman refused to surrender forcing cops to break the car's window to apprehend her and the 5-year-old boy who was inside.

She was booked into Taylor County Jail with her bond set at $25,000.
