A 23-year-old man has committed suicide after he allegedly opened fire at his 11-month-old son and his mother, authorities said.
The tragedy took place inside the couple's apartment located in the 100 block of Laurel Road.
Police found the bodies of She'Kierrah Adams and the father of her child Raquil Holland, 23, along with their baby, Raquil Jr. who survived the shooting despite his serious injuries in his torso and leg.
In a statement, Chief Richard Herron said about the infant: "That day when the officers got there he was actually on the ground crawling around on the floor, not crying."
It is believed that the couple's relationship was deteriorating and that police were previously responding to the apartment in October 2018 after a domestic dispute report.
