An Indiana suspect has been sentenced to 63 years behind bars after he choked an acquaintance of his with a cellphone cord causing him deadly harm.
Christopher J. Brinker, 31-year-old, had pleaded guilty to the murder of 40-year-old Jeb Stuart Jones in exchange to dismissal of other drug charges.
The incident unfolded in August 2017 when Brinker choked Jones with a cellphone cord. The man died eight months later but autopsy results showed that the death's cause was related to the incident.
Brinker had claimed in an interview that he attacked Jones because he remembered that he once insulted him. He was at first charged with attempted murder but his charges had later upgraded following Jones' death.
