White House to welcome Christmas tree

President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are set to receive the 2018 White House Christmas tree.

This year's tree standing 19-and-a-half-feet tall, coming from Mountain Top Fraser Fir in Newland, North Carolina, and will arrive by horse and carriage.

The President is scheduled to make an appearence in the annual tradition.

Mountain Top Fraser Fir's Larry Smith, named "Grand Champion" in the tree association's annual contest, expressed his honor in a statement:"I feel as though I have finally won the Super Bowl. It's a great honor to represent the Christmas tree industry by providing the official White House Christmas tree in 2018".

The Monday's tree arrival marks the beginning of festivities and holidays.
