Los Angeles police broken up a band of scooter-riding robbers who busted into 40 cars over.

Los Angeles police dismantled a group of scroogeers from the San Francisco Bay Area Thursday who destroyed 40 cars over the weekend.

The thieves traveled to Hollywood and used scooters to share dozens of cars near the tourist intersection of Hollywood and Highland, site of the TCL Chinese Theater.

Los Angeles Police Captain Cory Palka. "Scooters give mobility, and in Hollywood on weekend evenings, scooters allow them to maneuver in the community almost at will."

The surveillance video of one of the flights provided by the LAPD shows a man riding a scooter in the back of a car, coming out the window through the window, grabbing a bag and passing it to another man on a scooter . The two are not moving away.
