Woman opens fire at husband amid domestic dispute

A Boulder County wife was booked into prison for violence-related charges after she opened fire at her husband amid a familial dispute Saturday morning.

According to a spokesperson for the sheriff's office, the incident took place inside the couple's Signal Rock Drive house. Elena Marie Michael, 36, has allegedly punched 28-year-old husband in his face before shooting him once following cheating accusation.

The victim then exited the home and drove off his car to a Sinclair gas station on Coal Creek Canyon Road where he made an emergency call.

He was transported to a nearby hospital and released shortly afterwards.

Michael remains in the Boulder County jail without bond.
