Suspects still at large after breaking into home, hitting owner with hammer

Adams County authorities intensify the search for two suspects accused of breaking into a house and intentionally hitting his owner using a hammer before driving off the victim's own car and fleeing the area.

The incident occurred Sunday at 7 a.m. in the area of Ivywood Street in the proximity of Brighton blvd, authorities said.

The victim, who remains anonymous, was rushed to North Suburban Medical Center in a critical condition.

According to police, one of the invaders was 6-feet tall and around 240 pounds and was wearing a mask while they described the second as a Hispanic 20-year-old man. The pair was seen leaving the crime scene using the victim's 2005 grey Porsche Cayenne.
