The Pittsburgh City Council has finally approved the gun restrictions proposed after the October 27th Synagogue Massacre.
Legislation imposes restrictions on military-style assault weapons, allegedly used during the rampage that killed 11 people and wounded seven others.
It also prohibits the use of armor-piercing ammunition and high-capacity magazines and allows the temporary seizure of firearms by persons determined to pose a danger to themselves or others.
The council approved measures 6-3 Tuesday.
State law in Pennsylvania prohibits municipalities from regulating firearms, and gun advocates say they will sue to prevent laws from taking effect.
