Miami news, Florida news.

Mariah Michelle Logan from Chicago was back at the Miami International Airport around 4:45 am Sunday, accompanied by three friends after a three-day vacation in South Beach, where women celebrated their birthday and enjoyed the springtime. Logan fell from the back seat of a rental car and was crushed by a driver who escaped.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol incident report obtained by the Miami Herald, the group's rental car, a 2019 Hyundai Accent, was just minutes from the airport when Logan fell from the right-hand rear passenger seat when he changed lanes and was killed by a passing Range Rover driven by an unknown driver.

The Range Rover driver stopped briefly and then fled west on State Route 112, near State Route 25, the Herald said. The incident is currently under investigation as a homicide, the authorities said.

Logan's boyfriend, Olden, told the newspaper that Logan's friends said she was smiling as she spoke her last words as she fell from the vehicle.
