A Kentucky judge sentenced a 34-year-old man to 10 years in prison after the death of his 5-month-old daughter after she was left in a van.
According to the Bowling Green Daily News, Michael Anthony Thigpen of Brandenburg pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter and two first degree assaults.
Emma Grace Thigpen and her two younger sisters were left in a van parked outside the house in Auburn. Ema died and the other girls were hospitalized for heat-related problems.
The court records indicate that an investigation revealed that Thigpen was standing for 24 hours, he drove Uh and took his wife to work before returning home and falling asleep at home.
