Man punches woman in face because she wouldn't give her car's keys

Authorities announced Thursday that a West Chicago suspect is being held in prison after he allegedly punched his fiancee and menaced her at gunpoint.

According to police, 30-year-old Lee Steverson is accused of aggressively beating the woman who was not publicly identified in the face and menacing to murdering her using a firearm before resisting to a cop.

Police received an emergency call reporting that Steverson kept a gun at his property. Upon their arrival, they didn't find him inside.

He allegedly asked his fiancee to give him her car's keys but she declined. He then hit her in the face and hold his gun straight at her head saying: "I'm going to kill you if you call the police," prosecutors said.
