Suspect arrested for Charlotte deadly hit-and-run incident

A Charlotte man has been arrested in relation with a hit and run accident that occurred last month in northeast Charlotte.

Steven Desario Horton, 38, who was driving a car that contained multiple damages in the front hood, windshield and parking light as a result of a deadly hit and run that happened early January, Charlotte police said.

Horton who also was driving with a suspended license was taken to CMPD Headquarters for investigation. His car had been headed to the Crime Scene Bay as an evidence.

Horton faces felony hit and run charges.

The fatal accident took place on Reagan Drive, off of W. Sugar Creek Road near the Royal Inn on January 12 at 10:54 p.m during which Tommie Lee Ruffin, who was struck by Horton's car, died at the crime scene.
