A Texas 14-year-old girl has been found guilty for the deadly stabbing of her best friend during a sleepover that occurred last May.

The unidentified teenager was charged as a juvenile and convicted of murder by the jury after an hour of deliberations on Thursday.

The killing of Nylah Lightfoot, 14, happened after she spent the day with the convicted girl and other girls partying and dancing until 3:30 a.m, when she decided to leave the apartment, something that her friend completely opposed.

The girl went to the kitchen and came with a knife. A heated argument between the two friends turned deadly when she stabbed Lightfoot in the neck and chest.

"I didn't mean to kill her. She ran up on me. It was the worst mistake of my life," the convicted girl said on the witness stand.
