Utah teen charged with shooting death of classmate during lunch break

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly shooting his classmate during their school lunch break in West Valley, Utah.

The suspected shooter was charged in 3rd District Juvenile Court with counts of manslaughter and obstruction of justice.

The 15-year-old victim's mother said that she felt sad for the teenager accused of the fatal shooting: "My son got taken away, but the other parents are suffering too. I feel bad because he's a baby too, and that really has destroyed his life," she said.

The shooting occurred on Feb. 5, when Marquez Grajeda, was fatally shot in head at a house at 1347 W. 2320 South. Police believed the shooting was not intentional. They were able to retrieve the gun used in the deadly incident in a nearby canal.
