A Massachusetts woman accused of encouraging her friend to commit suicide is believed to start serving a 15-month jail sentence.

Reports said that prosecutors in the US are filed a request in which they asked the judge to order Michelle Carter, 22, who is out of prison as she appeals in state court to began the sentence.

After the judge found her involved in Conrad Roy III death, the Massachusetts' highest court supported Carter's conviction.

According to Justice Scott Kafker, Carter knew that Roy's truck is filled with toxic gas, but she allegedly advised him to get back in it: "After she convinced him to get back into the carbon monoxide filled truck, she didn't call for help or tell him to get out of the truck as she listened to him choke and die," he said.
