Orange County news, North Carolina news.

A North Carolina boy murdered in 1998 has finally been identified, along with his slain mother who had been killed that same year, according to authorities.

10-year-old Robert "Bobby" Adam Whitt was discovered dead under a billboard and couldn't be linked to any missing cases. Officials had tirelessly tried to identify the boy, their attempts included the rendering of a forensic sculptor and publicity on a TV show.

However, they only were able to determine the boy's identity using recent genetic genealogy technology, reaching a victim's relative. They were also able to identify another slain woman as his mother, Myoung Hwa Cho. She was strangled to death by her husband who confessed to the two murders.
