According to North Carolina Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist was killed after hitting a boat northwest of Statesville on Old Mountain Road near Alpine Circle and Street Rod Loop on Sunday night.
Soldiers say a man on a motorcycle crashed into a truck pulling a boat trailer while he was being heated in a driveway.
A road patrol says that alcohol and speed do not seem to be factors in the accident.
Part of Old Mountain Road was temporarily closed as emergency officials worked to clean up the area. The road reopened around 9pm.
No one else was blessed in the accident.
The soldiers are still investigating the cause of the accident. No other information has been published.
