Apple made the group chat function in FaceTime unavailable to fix a bug

Apple made the group chat feature in FaceTime unavailable after users claimed that a bug could allow callers to turn on another user's microphone remotely.

The bug has been demonstrated through online videos and has been reported this week by technical blogs. According to some information, the bug in the video chat application could allow an iPhone user calling another iPhone through Group Facetime to hear the sound of the other handset, even if the recipient did not accept the call.

"We are aware of this problem and we have identified a fix that will be released in a software update later this week," Apple said in a statement released on Tuesday.

His online support page indicated that the application was technically problematic and that Group Facetime "is temporarily unavailable."

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has issued a statement warning users about the bug and urging them to disable the app until Apple fixes the problem.
