Police open an investigation after a serious single-vehicle accident in the northwestern state today.
On Saturday, January 19, 2019, around 5 a.m., officers from the Oxley Police District went to Cypress Road in Gwabegar, about 100 km southwest of Narrabri, after seeing a man lying on the ground.
The police came looking for a car at the side of the road with a 20-year-old man lying nearby.
An 18-year-old man was on his way to seek help.
The old man was taken to John Hunter Hospital in critical condition and the young man to the Narrabri Hospital for minor injuries.
The crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident was opened.
