Investigation launched after a crash involving a police car in Auburn today

On Friday, January 18, 2019, shortly before noon, a police car and a BMW car collided at the intersection of Boorea Street and Nyrang Street in Auburn.

The BMW driver, a 25-year-old woman, was treated by the paramedics of the NSW ambulance and taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.

The passenger, a six-year-old boy, was taken to Westmead Hospital as a precautionary measure.

The driver of the police car, a policeman, and one of the gendarmes, were uninjured .

The Metropolitan Survey Unit was present and will investigate the circumstances of the incident.

The investigation will be subject to an independent review by the LECC.
