A woman died after being hit by a southbound Caltrain in Redwood City Friday morning.
The collision occurred about 5:44 a.m., at the Whipple Avenue grade crossing in Redwood City, all 50 passengers of the train were not harmed.
according to a Caltrain press release, the unidentified woman “was trespassing on the tracks at the Whipple Avenue grade crossing in Redwood City.”
Trains were delayed since 6:12 a.m. as a result of the collision and reopened around shortly after 7 a.m. resumed service on both tracks in the area, Caltrain said.
the incident is still under investigation, however, the collision is believed to be a suicidal act.
