A Maine woman pleaded guilty to beating her father with a fire poker and piece of firewood and splitting his skull over an argument.

Briana L. Rideout, 21, was charged with misdemeanor assault after reportedly attacking her father in 2017 at his home in Radolph. The daughter arrived drunk at the home. They then had a conversation in the home basement about money and other issues when she got furious and started hitting her father several times. He allegedly suffered two fractures to his skull, bruises on his arms, shoulders and chest and a large cut over one eye according to the affidavit filed by Kennebec County Sheriff's Deputy Jeffrey Bourdeau.

A relative intervened allowing the father to flee through a window. L. Rideout has been sentenced to 150 days in prison after her guilty plea.
