5years ago

Georgia authorities are investigating the death of a baby whose body was found Sunday on the side of a road, along Boy Scout Road in LaGrange.

Responding officers discovered the newborn child lifeless body inside a portable cooler bag, according to sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Stewart Smith.

Police also said that witness in the area had claimed the bag had been there, near the wood-line located about 90 miles southwest Atlanta, for several days or even a week.

An autopsy on the newborn child's body is scheduled for Tuesday. The cooler was described as light blue with pictures of water melon slices and zips.

The public is asked to help in the investigation by calling the Troup County Sheriff's Office at 706-883-1616 or 706-812-1000.
