Man accused of killing a Maryland black student

A man stabbed a black student at the University of Maryland. Urbanski is charged with first degree murder and a hate crime that resulted in the death in May 2017 of Richard Collins III, a student at Bowie State University.

A judge postponed the trial of the white man charged with hate crime.

Police said Collins was shot in the chest while waiting for a carpool service.

Thursday, the capital announced that the trial of January 22 Sean Christopher Urbanski had been postponed to July 22. Prosecutors requested the deadline after the resignation of the chief prosecutor of the case in November.

Authorities said Urbanski was a member of a racist Facebook group called "Alt-Reich: Nation". Urbanski's lawyers claimed that the information was confusing and unrelated to the crime.
